2010 All-CCAA List
WALNUT CREEK — Cal State San Bernardino's Britney Butler was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Freshman of the Year for the 2010 season. The Riverside, Calif., native tied the school record for home runs, with 14, in her last at bat of the season and was just one short of tying the CCAA record.
Not only did she lead the CCAA in home runs, but she was second in runs scored (49), triples (3), total bases (113) and fifth in stolen bases (15). She made just six errors in 194 attempts. She also led the team in RBIs (33) and slugging percentage (.706). In addition Butler was named to the All-CCAA first team.
Junior Jacquelyn Holtzclaw and sophomores Felicia Cervantes and Alex Mitchell were named All-CCAA second team. Holtzclaw was second on the team with a .317 batting average and was second in the CCAA in stolen bases with 18. Cervantes hit .352 in conference games, driving in 16 runs and hitting four doubles. Mitchell played in 34 of the 35 CCAA games with most being at catcher. She hit .333 in conference with seven RBIs, six doubles and a home run. She was also 10-for-11 in stolen base attempts against CCAA opponents.
It was the first selection for all four CSUSB student-athletes.
