SAN BERNARDINO — For the third time this season Cal State San Bernardino swept an opponent with a 9-0 win over The Master's (Calif.) Tuesday afternoon.
The Coyotes (3-9) swept all three doubles matches and dropped just six of the 78 sets played in the singles matches with No. 4, 5 and 6 singles sweeping both sets 6-0.
Christina Torres and
Janay Palicte bounced back after their first loss in six matches with an 8-3 win at No. 1.
Brittany Choate and
Kara Jenkins mirrored the same score with an 8-3 win at No. 2 while
Courtney Schumacher and
Isabella Fraczek won at No. 3, 8-1. It was Schumacher's last career match and couldn't have ended it a better way than with an ace to seal the match and put CSUSB up 3-0.
In singles, Choate won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 while Palicte and Torres each won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 and 3. Fraczek, Jenkins and
Michelle Mau all won their matches in straight sets at 6-0, 6-0.
The Coyotes close out the season Thursday when they host Cal State L.A. at 1 p.m.
