Young Gun Takes Weekly Honor

For the second straight week a freshman was named Player of the Week

Butler is two home runs away from tying the school record.

WALNUT CREEK — Cal State San Bernardino infielder Britney Butler was named the Worth/California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball Player of the Week for the week of April 5-11, Monday afternoon.

Butler, a freshman from Riverside, Calif., had a productive week in helping the Coyotes win three games of a four-game series against conference-leading Sonoma State. She batted .308 (4-for-13) with five runs scored, a double, three home runs, seven RBIs, 1.077 slugging percentage and .357 on-base percentage.

All four of Butler's hits went for extra bases as she hit a pair of home runs in the second game of Friday's doubleheader and added another round tripper in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader.

Cal State San Bernardino returns to action on Friday when it opens a key four-game series against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
