SAN MARCOS —
Cal State San Bernardino sits in fourth place after day one and the first two rounds of the Cal State San Marcos Invitational. The Coyotes shot a two-round total of 599 just one stroke behind third place Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Holy Names leads the tournament with a combined 582. The Hawks were the only school to fire two rounds under 300. California Baptist is in second at 586 after shooting the lowest round of any team with a 285 in the second round.

Thomas Chu led the way for the Coyotes, shooting a 147 with a 77 in the first round and a 70 in the second to finish the day in a tie for 11th. Joe Alldis was one stroke behind at 148 in a tie for 15th while Gene Webster Jr. fired a 149, finishing in a tie for 17th. Nick Kelley finished tied for 31st at 155 and Kenny Anthony closed the day in a tie for 46th with a 160.

CBU’s Carl Stjarnfalt leads the tournament with a 141 after shooing a 75 in the first round and a tournament low 66 in the second.

Two more rounds will be played tomorrow to close out the tournament.
