Two members of the 2009 Cal State San Bernardino women's soccer team were voted to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America all-West Region team, announced Monday.
Senior defender Ashley Salas, a first-team all-CCAA conference pick, was on the first team and sophomore midfielder Jaclyn Clark, a second-team all-CCAA pick, earned a spot on the second all-region team.
Salas played in all 20 matches for the 10-8-2 Coyotes who finished the CCAA conference schedule with a 9-5-2 record -- the best finish in the team's history -- but just missed a berth in both the conference tournament and the NCAA regional tournament.
The Etiwanda High School graduate scored two goals this season for CSUSB.
Clark, a graduate of Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, started all 20 matches and collected three goals for CSUSB.
West Region champion Cal State Dominguez Hills, which plays West Florida in the NCAA Div. II semifinals Thursday in Tampa, Fla., landed two players on the second all-region team -- sophomore Jessica Murphy and junior Makenzie Pedrotti. UC San Diego, which lost to the Toros in the regional, put four players on the all-region first team. The Toros beat West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals.
The Coyotes split with the Toros this season, losing 1-0 on the road and winning 1-0 at home.
Cal Poly Pomona had two second team picks -- Mary Carroll and Justine Barclay.
