POMONA -- Cal Poly Pomona rebounded from a 4-1 thumping at the hands of Cal State San Bernardino Friday with a 2-0 shutout of the Coyotes Sunday on Senior Day at the Broncos field in the CCAA conference, regular-season finale for both teams.
However, the Coyotes will be moving on to the CCAA championship tournament starting Friday at Cal State Stanislaus as the No. 2 seed and will face 2008 NCAA Div. II champion Cal State Dominguez Hills, the No. 3 seed, at 4:30 p.m. Friday. No. 1 seed Cal State L.A. will play No. 4 seed Sonoma State at 7 p.m.
CSUSB winds up the regular season 15-4-1 overall, matching the second-best record in the history of the program first set in 1990, and 11-4-1 in the CCAA conference, the team's best record ever in conference play since joining the CCAA in 1991.
