GLENDALE, Ariz. – Cal State San Bernardino got strong performances from its top five cross country runners Saturday to finish second in the Grand Canyon Invitational 6K run at Thunderbird Paseo Park.
Freshman
Samantha Borman finished third overall and was the first Coyotes into the finish chute in 23:42.3. Freshman teammate
Deserae Perez was fourth in 23:59.6 and another freshman,
Rebekah Frazier, was fifth in 24:05.4.
The Coyotes had 33 points, seven behind meet champion Mesa (Ariz.) Community College (26). Dine College was third at 91 and host Grand Canyon was fourth with 96 points.
Senior
Angelica Lopez finished 10th in 24:48.3 and senior
Anjuli Nieto was right behind in 11th spot in the 38-runner field in 25:04.6.
The Coyotes will compete the UC San Diego Tritons Invitational 6K on Oct. 10 at the La Jolla campus.
