Albert Cabrera of Ontario was voted the collegiate "top performer of the week" by fans who logged onto the on-line poll offered by the Press-Enterprise newspaper on its
www.pe.com website.
Cabrera scored a goal in the Coyotes' 2-2 tie with Chico State in double overtime last Friday and then nailed the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday. He now has a team-leading 10 goals and six assists for 26 points on the season.
He was one of five candidates listed in the weekly on-line poll and received 210 votes or 43 percent of the total of 485 votes cast by fans. Chad Hall, a cross country runner from UC Riverside, was the runnerup with 165 votes.
Cabrera now has a 14 goals and 12 assists in his three-year career at CSUSB.
Congratulations to Albert on his accomplishments for the Coyotes, who are now 12-3-1 on the season, 8-3-1 in the CCAA and ranked No.4 in the NCAA West Region.
